On collection of the vehicle an excess is payable, which is the non-waiverable amount chargeable in the event of any damage, loss or theft.
The excess can be paid in cash, traveller’s cheques or credit card. Your credit card will not be debited with any amount, we only take an imprint of your credit card on a manual bank slip, which you have to sign.

IN FULL
If the vehicle is returned in good order, the excess will be refunded in full.
The amount of the excess depends on the reduction of liability signed for by the renter.
No limitation of liability options chosen , covers water damage,i.e driving through flowing rivers or deep water causing engine damage, electrical system, gearbox damage or any other mechanical damage. Standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle, incorrect usage of diff locks, transfer cases and clutches, or any damage to the inside of the vehicle, as well as driving into a still object, eg, trees, walls etc. The full cost of any such damage will be recovered from the renter.

The African Sun Car Hire imposed speed limit on gravel roads are 80 km/h, tar roads 120 kms/h. Any accident damage will be charged to the customer in case of an accident on a gravel /tar road where the speed limit of 80 km/h - 120 km/h was exceeded. All vehicles are fitted with tracking devices.
Any other transgression of the laws governing the use of roads in Namibia, will make the customer fully
liable for all cost in case of an accident Any off-road excursions are not covered by any of the limitation of liability options chosen.
It is not compulsory to be insured against Third Party damage.
In case of an accident, the hirer will be liable for the excess applicable and any towing or recovery costs. Willful damage, e.g. Water damage, standing on the bonnet of the vehicle, incorrect usage of locks or clutches, and any damage to the inside of the vehicle is not covered by any liability option chosen. The full cost of such damage will be recovered from the customer.
Driving into a still standing object, i.e, trees, walls, is not covered by
any of the limitations of liability options chosen. The renter is liable for the full amount
of the damage.
No refund will be given for lost rental days or any time lost, and no refund will be given for unused rental days
should no replacement vehicle be available.
Accidents must be reported to “AFS” immediately and to the nearest police station within 24 hours of the accident. The customer must furnish AFS with a police accident case number within 24 hours of the accident.
Where at all possible, obtain names and numbers of witnesses.
Never admit any responsibility or liability, nor settle any claim by any party, nor accept any disclaimer of liability.
